During the worldwide alumni day of 100-year WUR, alumni met at locations all over the world to collect memories. King Willem-Alexander opened the event after the opening speech of Louise Fresco. Then alumni talked live to each other on five different continents about how iwe can provide the big cities with enough healthy food in the year 2030.

The King also visited the demo square where he received information about research carried out by Wageningen UR. He then spoke with a few employees, alumni and students of the WUR. Finally he concluded his visit by planting a tree on the campus. This Universitree is a symbol of solidarity and worldwide there are already several of these trees planted, like in China, Bangladesh, Brazil and Leeuwarden.
