Nestlé is the world’s largest food and beverage company. ‘ Nevertheless, we believe that leadership is not about size; it is mainly about behavior and credibility’, says Klaas Cuperus of Nestlé Benelux.

‘In the long term, trust can only be earned by continuous fulfillment of our promises, a total of 42 commitments, which contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. These goals and behaviors are summarized in our purpose, that’s leading in our day to day work: enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future. 

‘This is also reflected in the objectives and vision of the World Food Center. The road to better food and a healthier life starts with knowledge and awareness. It is essential that people understand where their food comes from, how food safety is guaranteed, and how sustainable production is better for all of us, for the whole planet.’

‘Feeding a world population in a sustainable way, not only requires innovation in production, but also requires changes in our consumption. This is necessary to lower the waste of food and make healthier choices. The WFC can and will play an important role in this transfer of knowledge and we as Nestlé want to take our responsibility in this area.’
